Chat and Chew Speech Therapy PLLC is open for business Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 AM to 5 PM. Office Hours available for discussing insurance, intake, and available openings are available by appointment on Monday & Wednesday 1-2:30 PM. Therapy calendar typically follows Allen ISD for school closures, bad weather days, and holidays.

Insurance

I am currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Superior Health Plan (CHIP and STAR), Parkland Community Health Plan (CHIP and STAR). I will do my best to help you understand your benefits when working with insurance. My policy is to keep a credit card on file for co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles. I will keep you updated on billing timelines, expectation with your Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and cost expected from you at time of service.

Please call the phone number listed on the back of your insurance card to inquire regarding your plan’s specific benefits. Not all speech and therapy codes are covered by individual plans, and some plans have a visit limit or maximum for each year. I am happy to work with you regarding frequency of services, as well as coordination of care with additional providers that may require shared amounts for visits to be distributed throughout the year. I will be billing insurance for a diagnostic evaluation, as well as subsequent therapy sessions if your child is a candidate for speech or feeding therapy.

KEEP IN MIND: Some insurance companies may not approve speech and feeding therapy codes that are considered “developmental,” habilitative services, certain diagnoses, settings, or communication devices. I will do my best to work with your health care plan in order to seek the recommended care for your child, while working within your means.

If you have questions about your coverage, call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card, request a customer representative or health advocate, and request clarification of the speech and feeding therapy services be provided to you in writing.
